Walk the old-growth

All attractions

Some of the Olympic Peninsula's most beautiful forest sits just up the road. Towering cedars, mossy maples and cold, clear rivers make for easy, scenic walks the whole family can do.

Staircase Rapids Loop

A gentle two-mile loop along the Skokomish River in Olympic National Park — old-growth firs, a suspension bridge and turquoise pools. Roughly a 45-minute drive from Union.

Waterfalls nearby

The short walks to nearby falls are stroller-friendly and stunning after rain. We'll map out the ones running best for your dates.

Come prepared

Trails can be muddy year-round — bring layers and waterproof shoes. A national-park pass is needed for Staircase; day passes are available at the entrance.
